Sophie has led ARCC’s Pacific Northwest Semester and is currently leading a Spring semester in South America. Sophie is Mexican American, born in Colorado and raised in Mexico. She went to Colorado College for her undergraduate studies and has a Master of Science from the Sorbonne University in Paris. She served in the Peace Corps as a Youth Development Specialist and loves traveling and working abroad, which has led her to live in France, Mexico, and Morocco. She is fluent in French, Moroccan Arabic, and Spanish and has worked as a language instructor for college students, graduate students, and non-traditional immigrants. She is passionate about youth development and outdoor learning and is enthusiastic to be a mentor to students throughout their ARCC programs and beyond.
