Jesse was born and raised just outside of Seattle, Washington. He grew up doing all sorts of outdoor sports in the Pacific Northwest (backpacking, mountain biking, and kayaking) until ultimately committing himself to competitive soccer through high school and all four years of college. As a semester abroad, he was able to live and take classes for 5 months in Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua for a field study program called Social Change in Central America: Exploring Peace, Justice, and Community Engagement. This led him to later work with the International Rescue Committee, as well as to his most recent work before ARCC with Friends of the Children – Seattle, which is a professional mentoring program for youth in Seattle Public Schools and Foster Care.
