ARCC Leader Since: 2021
Programs as a Leader: Northwest Gap
Education: University of California, San Diego – B.S. in Neuroscience
Born and raised in Sonoma, California, Andy always had an unquenchable passion for exploring and learning about the world around him. He attended UC San Diego where he studied neuroscience, and after publishing in schizophrenia research at the Salk Institute, went on to teach experiential education at the UCSD Challenge Course. Branching out into outdoor education since, Andy has had the great fortune to be able to teach his passions – backpacking, camping, rock climbing, diving, mountaineering, astronomy, and environmental science. Andy hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada in 2017, and those 6 months continue to inform his values of minimalism, adventure, and personal growth through intentional challenge outdoors.
