Blue Water Leader Position

ARCC’s Blue Water Adventures are composed of ocean or water based activities. Therefore, Blue Water Leaders are people who not only have strong experience working with teenagers and groups, but who also have strong water based skills. Blue Water trips do not include backcountry sections, so strong backpacking skills are not required.

Requirements

  • Strong ocean swimming skills.
  • Ability to oversee (but not guide) outfitted activities such as surfing, windsurfing, SCUBA diving, sailing, sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, etc. Skill in these areas is helpful, but not required.
  • Familiarity with group camping and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to plan the food and transportation logistics for groups of up to 15 participants.
  • The ability to facilitate group activities and initiatives when appropriate.
  • International travel experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge and background in marine biology.
  • Sailing experience and certifications - Instructional sailing experience highly regarded.
  • SCUBA experience - Dive masters and SCUBA instructors highly regarded.

Trips led by Blue Water Leaders

Costa Rica/Belize, Hawaii Blue, Tahiti/Fiji/New Zealand and Italy/Greece.
