What is the weather like in Hawaii during the summer?
During the day the sun will shine brightly. Almost like clockwork we will get an afternoon shower which will cool us off after a hard days hike.
At night the Pacific will cool the air and a light breeze will head inland. As the temperature drops to a perfect 70 degrees we will curl up in our sleeping bags and dream the night away.
How do we get around when we are in Hawaii?
While we are on the Islands we will be driving in vans to get to our destinations. When our itinerary requires us to travel to different islands we will catch a quick flight and be able to look down on these amazing volcanic peaks. Lastly, while on the Kona coast we will be boarding a 45 foot catamaran, exclusive to our group, and sail along the beautiful coast as we spot turtles, dolphins, and sharks.
How much time will we spend on the beach?
We will spend ample time on the beach while we are exploring Hawaii. Many of our campsites are located either on the beach or a short distance from the breaking waves. If beach time is what you want this is the trip for you.
What is the sailing section like?
This is consistently the most loved section of this trip. As we sail along the Kona coast we will spot dolphins, sharks, and giant turtles. When we throw the anchor overboard students can snorkel, swim, or explore secluded beaches. If you want to try navigating our 45 foot catamaran just ask the Captain and he will show you the finer points of ocean sailing. We will catch fresh fish and will cook up a feast to remember. This is a perfect time in a perfect place.
